Jonathan Bethel
Jonathan Bethel’s roots run deep in the Bahamas–about 300 years deep. His Welch ancestors arrived in Abaco during the early British Colonial Period and selttled at Hope Town, and there they remained. Jonathan is actually the first member of his family raised outside of the Abacos, although those islands still serve as subjects for many of his paintings.
Born in 1978 in Nassau, Jonathan recalls beginning to draw at an early age. He began by copying album covers and basketball cards, but soon began creating his own cartoon characters.
