Close to Nassau in miles, yet worlds away in style, Eleuthera is an Out Island with a distinctive personality

Its popular neighbors to the north, Harbour Island and Spanish Wells, attract cruisers, fishermen and divers making the short 30-mile trek from Nassau to enjoy the amenities of full-service marinas and resorts in paradise. Yet some travelers rarely venture beyond these mainstays to explore the 90-mile long, narrow island to the south that is Eleuthera.

If they did, they’d find an island of contrasts. Eleuthera is home to rolling hills and woodlands, beaches and reefs, and high cliffs that some say evoke memories of Scotland.
