On a late February day with the sun shining down upon the smooth waters of Biscayne Bay, media gathered at the prestigious Miami Mandarin Oriental hotel waiting to view the latest eye-candy to hit these jet-setting shores. In a beauty-conscious city known for its fast cars and even faster lifestyles, on this day a fast boat took center stage–the Fearless 28.
This first launch from luxury performance boat manufacturer Fearless Yachts was four years in the making. In 2003, Gary Fears and CEO Jeff Binder envisioned a high-end line of performance boats that would bring not only a new luxury brand to the marine market, but also perhaps become the cornerstone of a new luxury yacht lifestyle. Knowing that the pedigree was just as important as the design itself, they approached the acclaimed Porsche Design Studio with their concept.
“We had to romance the Porsche Studio for about six months,” says Binder. “Once they saw the full breadth of what we were trying to achieve, they jumped on board. Fearless is not just about boats, it’s about a lifestyle. It’s about being in the moment and seeing the beauty that surrounds you.” There’s no better way to see that beauty, he says, than at 80 miles an hour from the striking Fearless 28. ...
