They call it the Four-stroke Revolution, and it’s sweeping the land. Prompted by stricter emission regulations enforced by the EPA, four-stroke technology was brought to the outboard world and consumers have embraced it. Four-stroke engines accounted for 66 percent of outboard sales in 2006, up from 47 percent in 2003, according to the National Marine Manufacturers Association.
