Ullberg Yacht Design 90

A commission for a 90-foot world-cruising motoryacht is a rare prize for a naval architect, rarer still is the customer who wants his yacht fashioned in the guise of a sportfishing boat, but that is just the exercise awarded to Robert Ullberg, whose work is almost exclusively concentrated on sportfishing boats.

“The boat started as an eighty-footer with a very specific design brief. The owner planned to travel around the world with this boat cruising, diving, kayaking, and entertaining. He also wanted to fish from the boat but felt that he was finished with tournament fishing,” recalls Robert. “He’d seen my design for Whittaker called Boomer and thought that was about right. But to fit in the systems that would be needed to take him around the world, we needed more space.” ...
