Bertram–Hatteras Shootout Puts Hatteras back on Top

Eurus, the Greek god of east wind, had been on a tear for weeks leading up to the annual Bertram-Hatteras Shootout and boats had taken their lumps getting to the Abaco Beach Resort and Boat Harbour Marina in Marsh Harbour, Bahamas. Perhaps the intrigue this year might not be which of the two famed manufacturers would release more billfish, but rather, which would provide the more comfortable ride!

As the Bertram and Hatteras hospitality bars dispensed tropical beverages, participants toured the factory boats on display, Bertram showcasing 63-foot Blue Rider and Hatteras its new 60-foot Hatterascal. Inside Boat Harbour’s enormous tournament marquee, magician extraordinaire Jeff Edmunds was amazing the crowds by making everything disappear but the wind. ...
