Italian boatbuilders are known for their sleek lines and contemporary style. What they are not known for is power catamarans. In fact, this country so rich in maritime history, has never produced one, until now. V.G. Shipyard Yacht located in Mondulfo, Italy, launched the PC 62 at this year’s Miami International Boat Show.
The PC 62 exhibits none of the visual awkwardness often associated with the catamaran design. Rather, this cat remains true to its Italian heritage providing striking visuals from bow to stern with a profile created by a series of curvaceous lines that extol both form and function. High stainless steel handrails wrap around the foredeck for safety and curve down to a lower set of rails mid deck. Tucked down in the foredeck between the two hulls is chaise longue-styled seating molded into the deck. Cushions are stowed in a compartment beneath the seating, which also houses an optional water maker producing 45-gallons per hour. ...
