Trintella is a name usually associated with Dutch sailing yachts. Originally building in steel, Anne Wever switched to fiberglass in 1964. In 1994 Ron Holland began designing performance-oriented cruisers for Trintella, which is now part of the Italian CCYD group, best known for custom mega-yachts and megasailers. Trintellas and CCYD’s smaller vessels are constructed at ML Boatworks in Brazil, a high-tech builder with a proven track record.

“I began thinking that Hinckley and Sabre shouldn’t be having all the fun with Down East-style express cruisers and I decided to design one for Trintella’s customers,” quips Ron Holland. Of course, being derivative is an anathema for him, so he began discussions with his brother, Phil, formerly Riviera’s agent in New Zealand, about what the perfect express cruiser would entail. ...
