Prior to 2000, American boat owners who heard the name Jeanneau probably would have pictured a sailboat. Though the French boatbuilder began with powerboats in 1957, and still builds more power than sailboats today, American buyers were only introduced to Jeanneau's power offerings seven years ago with the launch of the Prestige line. Since that time, the company has rolled out an impressive variety of express and flybridge Prestige models from 32 to 46 feet. Now, as Jeanneau celebrates its 50th anniversary, it also celebrates its new flagship, the Prestige 50.
The largest Prestige to date, this sport cruiser turns heads with elegant European lines and pleases the value-driven American customer with a modest price tag (around $800,000) despite the strength of the Euro. “The 50 is targeted to the client who is looking for a high-end express-style boat delivered at the production level [price],” says Jeanneau America President Paul Fenn.
