On Land and On Sea chronicles women in yachting during the 20th century. Their lives as workers, caregivers, sportswomen, and spokeswomen are portrayed in magnificent black and white photographs from the internationally renowned Rosenfeld Collection at the Mystic Seaport Museum in Mystic, Connecticut. Margaret Andersen Rosenfeld, daughter-in-law of Stanley Rosenfeld, has scoured the nearly one million photographs in the collection for a sampling that tells the story of women in yachting during the last 100 years. The images depict both the glitz and glamour of yachting as well as the grit and determination that women needed to be successful in this world.
